I live in far northern England, many miles away from the Mach Loop, but we get the flights come over where I am if they are coming from Scotland, they fly over Southwest Scotland, over the Solway Firth, into Cumbria from the Northwest, down through central Cumbria following the valleys between the mountains, leave Cumbria to the south, go out over the Irish Sea skirting the coast of Lancashire, onto North Wales then the Mach Loop.

A little mention of my city of Carlisle, Cumbria @3:10.

A Welsh farmer in the 1980s was so sick of low flying sorties over his farm he painted ‘piss off biggles’ on the roof, the RAF would take pictures and then other air services from other nations would do the same, eventually leading to the farmer to paint over it.

Of course, our lads like a laugh too.
